Notes:
Darrell & Tempie Batten started playing
music in the 1960's and have shared their
love of music with friends and family ever
since. They made the jump to official family
band and hit the Bluegrass circuit in 2003.
Most of the family is from the Lubbock,
Texas area. Darrell plays rhythm guitar and
sings lead. Tempie plays the mandolin and
upright bass. Kevin is their oldest son and
he plays mandolin and sings harmony. His
wife Teresa sings an amazing lead and
harmony. Kevin and Teresa have two sons.
Bryan plays mandolin and upright bass with
the group and sings lead and harmony. He
is married to Julie and they have two kids,
Ethan and Madison. Cody, their younger
son, lives in Nashville, Tennessee with his
wife, Raylissa.
Lisa Hilton is the daughter in the group. She
sings lead and does a great job
harmonizing with the others. She is married
to David, and they have one daughter, Kelly
Crowson. Kelly sings with the group when
she can. Living in El Paso, Texas has made
that more difficult recently. Kelly is married
to Matt, and they have two children,
Annabelle and Willie.
Paul is the other son in the group. He refers
to himself as "the outlaw" as he is from San
Angelo, Texas. Paul picks a mean guitar
and sings lead and harmony. He is married
to Lela, and they have two children,
Samantha and Tanner, and one grandson,
Broc.
Tammy, Teresa's sister, takes care of the
Batten family website.
