Coleman Brothers CD: Second Time Around
Coleman Brothers & the Lone Star Boys
sample some Coleman Bros:
The Coleman Brothers and the Lone Star
Boys include Craig Coleman on
mandolin, Corey Coleman on fiddle,
Patrick Stowers on guitar, Jay Hollifield
on bass, and Bryan Hollifield on banjo.

Craig and Corey formed their first band at
the ages of 15 and 12, respectively, and
started playing shows around Texas.  As
their popularity grew they were able to
expand their travel to include shows all
over the South.  Craig and Corey shared
the stage with groups such as The Dixie
Chicks, Bill Monroe, Ralph Stanley,
Alison Krauss, and many others.  In 1991
the band was invited to play the Fan Fair
in Nashville for the Grand Ole Opry by Mr.
Bill Monroe where they entertained a
crowd of over 12,000.

Patrick Stowers started playing music in
West Texas over 45 years ago.  First,
Patrick played country, then moved into
bluegrass music in 1968.  He was
influenced by the traditional bands such
as Jimmy Martin, Stanley Brothers, Bill
Monroe, and Flatt & Scruggs.

Jay Hollifield has been playing bluegrass
for 30 years.  His styles are rooted in the
Blue Ridge Mountains of southern
Virginia and North Carolina.   Jay first
learned mandolin, then the guitar, and
now plays bass for the band.

Bryan Hollifield, a native Texan, began
playing mandolin at age 8 and soon
developed a love for the banjo.  He plays
a hard-driving banjo which was heavily
influenced by the sounds of Ralph
Stanley, J.D. Crowe, and Earl Scruggs.

Throughout the years the Coleman
brothers have kept their vow to play
traditional, hard-driving bluegrass music.
Brother harmonies and traditional
instrumentation make The Coleman
Brothers and the Lone Star Boys a
valuable asset to any musical event.
