Notes:
Denim Bluegrass has been performing for
over a decade in the northeast Texas area,
including 6 Flags. They combine traditional
bluegrass music with songs from other
genres, done in bluegrass style. The band
consists of:
Richard Angell, of Texarkana, Arkansas, on
banjo and vocals.
Bart Smith of Fortney, Texas, on bass and
vocals.
The Roberts family of Wills Point, Texas,
including James Roberts on guitar and
vocals, and his wife Linda on fiddle and
vocals.
Their daughter Kathryn plays mandolin and
sings, while son Justin provides backup on
the bass and banjo.
Bart has experience playing with other bands
and James was previously the lead guitarist
with the bluegrass gospel group "Simple
Gospel".
Linda grew up in Arkansas and has been
playing the fiddle since age 12. She met
James while both were students at East
Texas State University (now Texas A&M -
Commerce). After graduating, they were
married in 1989.
Denim Grass provides a great family-oriented
show, and has a full schedule of festival
