| The Grubb Family Singers |
| Tucked away in a small country cabin just outside Collinsville, Texas, the Grubb family stays busy with their small goat farm. But they find time for bluegrass pickin’! The Grubbs are a conservative Christian family band, known as Full Quiver, consisting of John and Shawn Grubb and their children, Christina (21-autoharp), Melody (18-fiddle), Faith (16- mandolin), John (15-bass & lead guitar), James (12-learning bass), Abigail (9- strumstick), and Joshua (6-guitar). The family band has been a dream come true for John Grubb since teaching himself to play the guitar at age sixteen. He has competed in the New Folk Songwriters’ Competition at Kerrville Folk Festival, as well as played opening acts for John Vandiver and others. John Grubb has also performed with local Texas singers-songwriters such as Randal Dean among many others. Just as the girls started picking up harmonies on the hymns the family learned during morning devotions, a friend gave them Alison Krauss' "Now That I've Found You" CD. They played it night and day (and still do!), singing to it while doing chores around the house until they knew them by heart. That began the family's journey into the world of bluegrass as well as keeping the hymns alive that they love so well. Playing mainly bluegrass and gospel music, the Grubb family also enjoys performing country and dance music as well for weddings and special events. They hope the tunes they sing bring others closer to His peace and joy. - Bio, Nov 2008 |
