Lonesome Prairie consists of Paul
Cherryhomes, Steve Marx, Leon Joplin,  
John Scott, and Randol Blanton.  They
are active members and supporters of
the
Southwest Bluegrass Club.

Paul Cherryhomes plays upright bass
and sings lead, tenor, and baritone.  He,
along with David Hand, formed
Lonesome Prairie in 1995.

Steve Marx plays guitar, sings lead and
baritone, and is the front man and emcee
for the group.. Steve and his wife Joyce
live in Cleburne TX and are also
bluegrass festival promoters.

Leon Joplin plays dobro and sings lead,
tenor, baritone, and bass.  He started
playing guitar and steel guitar in 1950,
playing country music and gospel music
until 1995, when he became interested in
bluegrass.

John Scott plays banjo and sings lead
and bass. A native of Fort Worth, John
started playing the banjo in the 1970's
and plays a variety of musical styles.

Randol Blanton plays mandolin and
sings lead vocals. Randol lives in Euless
and is the newest member of the group.

The repertoire of the band includes
original compositions by the band
members and professional song writers,
traditional bluegrass standards, and
songs from other musical genres.  Their
recently released CD, "Our Best To You",
was produced by
Ancient Tone Studio
and Production in Mineral Wells TX.

Lonesome Prairie plays at numerous
community centers and retirement
homes throughout the Fort Worth and
Weatherford area, as well as businesses
and social functions across north central
Texas.  They also play regional
bluegrass festivals and often perform the
opening show for touring bluegrass
bands.
