Notes:
Salt Kreek is based out of Abilene, Texas,
and performs traditional as well as original
bluegrass. Iberis Cemetery Road is a
polished debut CD, with band members
having over 150 years combined experience.
Roxanne Smith is the lead singer and
guitarist. Roxanne writes the original material
for the band, and this CD features three of her
songs. A more recent composition, "Sweat
Stains on His Stetson", was featured in the
Abilene Reporter and has become one of Salt
Kreek's most requested songs.
Jimmie Taylor plays the mandolin and sings
with a voice reminiscent of Johnny Cash.
Joe Frazier sings harmony and plays the
resonator guitar. Joe designs and creates all
his own Frazier instruments.
Floyd Smith sings, plays bass, and takes care
of the sound. He is called on to run sound for
various other groups as well.
Bill Burns sings and plays the fiddle with the
confidence and authority of over 50 years
experience. Bill has played with some of the
greats, including Bill Monroe and AP Carter.
Salt Kreek performs at a wide variety of
venues from festivals to private parties, and
recently at the Abilene July 4th Celebration.
Salt Kreek is receiving considerable air play
over the Abilene radio stations and on KETR
88.9 across the Dallas-Ft. Worth area. Expect
to hear more from this fine West Texas
bluegrass band. - Editor, July 2006
