SpringStreet got its start in 1990 when the
founding members Mike Williams, Dan Nieto,
and Steve Carroll met at a local bluegrass
festival. They went to Eureka Springs,
Arkansas, to watch the legendary Bill Monroe
perform. Just outside the Music Hall was a
street sign that read "SpringStreet", and the
name just seemed to fit.
Nineteen years later, although names and
faces in the band have changed, SpringStreet
still has its own distinctive sound, and its own
style of bluegrass. Their music is influenced
by country, gospel, and other styles as well.
SpringStreet has performed at numerous
festivals and events across Oklahoma,
Arkansas, Texas, Kansas, and Missouri, and
at local radio, TV stations, and churches.
One of the main strengths of the band is the
strong lead vocals. All of members can sing
so there is a good variety and a lot of great
harmony to please the ear. They also have
some great original songs written and
arranged by members of the band.
Along with great singing the members each
possess great talent on their individual
instruments. There is something for the
whole family to enjoy.
