Welcome to Permian Basin Bluegrass Music (PBBM) in
Odessa, Texas. The West Texas Bluegrass Association
was formed in 1990 at a time when there were no festivals
at all in West Texas. Since then, festivals have been
started in Andrews, Artesia NM, Littlefield, McCamey, Grape
Creek, San Angelo, and Wickett.
In 2009, West Texas Bluegrass Association merged with
Southeastern New Mexico Bluegrass Music to form PBBM.
Two annual campout/pickout jams are held in the area,
one in December and the PBBM Summerfest Jam at the
Texas RV Park in Big Spring, Texas, the 2nd weekend in
June.
The Madera Canyon Campout & Jam is also held on the
3rd weekend in May and the 4th weekend in September,
PBBM holds a meeting and open jam session at 1pm on
the 2nd Saturday of each month at the Jesus Connection
Church, 4410 N. Andrews Highway in Odessa. Visitors
and new members are always welcome. Membership
includes a subscription to the monthly PBBM newsletter,
with the most current and complete information about
bluegrass events in West Texas and New Mexico.
