Psychologist with an interest in most forms of community music
making - like bluegrass, folk and all variations of Celtic music.
Currently very enthusiastic about the traditional/bluegrass blend of
piper Fred Morrison's "Outlands" in collaboration with Ron Block and
Tim O'Brien. Very interesting links there worth exploring further
-reel pipes, banjo, fiddle and mandolin work well together. Music
making is health promoting, life enhancing and very enjoyable in our
search for creative expression.

Hello! We are dulcimer and autoharp players. We have been playing
about 10 years. I have been a bluegrass lover since the days of
Flatt and Scruggs. We go to a lot of festivals. We really enjoyed
the Gilmer festival, since it is only four miles from our house, and
hope to see it continue. We met some new friends there and hope to
see them again soon. If anyone has any pictures of the Gilmer
festival, could you email me? Thanks, James Barham

What a wonderful web site, Gerald! It's so nice to have a place we
can go online to find out about all the upcoming Bluegrass jams,
festivals and shows in our area. This is a terrific service to
share information about what is happening among the Bluegrass
community. We especially appreciate all the links you've provided
to the web sites, flyers and e-mail/phone contacts for the events.
It's one of the most comprehensive and up-to-date sites that we've
found for Bluegrass happenings in Texas and the nearby states.
Thank you so much for all your hard work and creativity to make this
possible! (I hope that those who can will donate a little to help
support your efforts in keeping this service available.) Many
thanks!! Sue & Fred www.pearlbluegrass.com

The Larryfest KVAMA Music Festival in Wisconsin is calling for
original bluegrass or acoustic songs for submission in the
songwriter contest. Hoping folks will pass the word. Great
opportunity to play on the main stage. Prizes include cash
scholarships, new instruments, and a day to record in the studio.
This is a small town fest that is lots of fun. Our goal is to
preserve and promote bluegrass, old time, and acoustic music through
a non-profit format. If you know a songwriter who is interested the
website is www.kvama.org and you can click on the songwriter link.

I'm trying to learn to play mandolin and 5-string banjo as therapy
after a spinal cord injury (it's been almost 15 years since the
accident). It's been 25 years since I played a guitar as a
teenager. A guitar would be too large and heavy to carry about now.
My physical therapist said I needed to find a way to relax and find
something to build up the strength in my hands. I decided to kill
two birds with one stone. I hope to make it to the bluegrass
festival at Adona next week. 05/30/09

This is a great site! Just found out about it tonight, and we love
it. THANKS! We lost a great lady of Bluegrass on February 14 of this
year. Pat Jasper passed away. She was a dear friend to a lot of
people, and I still can't believe it. She played the upright bass,
and guitar. She sang like a angel. She will really be missed by a
lot of people. Her husband, Floyd Jasper is the Best Dobro player on
this planet. If you want to know anything about REAL bluegrass music
he's the one to ask. I know that he needs your prayers: Where you
saw Pat you saw Floyd. It will always be "Floyd & Pat." 03/06/09
